BMW Motorrad, in collaboration with German designer Kingston Custom, has introduced a retro-inspired model of the flagship R 18 cruiser. Dubbed the “Spirit of Passion”, BMW Motorrad recently collaborated with Kingston Custom for the second custom edition of BMW R18 in the ‘SoulFuel’ series.
Only available to their most-valued customers, each example is hand-built by Kingston Custom. Dirk Oehlerking’s Kingston Custom is well-known for its extreme customizing. Kingston Customs didn’t pull apart the entire thing to build a new chassis and body from scratch. “The BMW R 18 is so perfect that I left the technology as it is. The frame is 100 % original and so sophisticated that nothing should be changed here,” Oehlerking commented. But the bike has still been transformed into an unmistakable Kingston Custom conversion.
The R 18 Spirit of Passion has a massive Kingston fairing, featuring BMW’s signature kidney grille on the front, the company’s logo, as well as an integrated LED headlamp. The customization also sees a replacement of the turn indicators with Kellermann indicators and LED front headlights integrated into the fairing.
All the technology and electronics are smartly hidden from view, leaving the big 1.8-liter exposed for all to see. The custom bike maintains the same paintjob as the original R18, with the linework on the black body. Discover Opulent Club on Apple News.
