Jimmy Choo, one of the most famous footwear designers in the world, has built a luxury shoe empire that spans the globe and this autumn, he’ll turn his attentions to education with the opening of the JCA London Fashion Academy.
The JCA / London Fashion Academy will open its doors this September, becoming the newest university in the UK that is dedicated to fashion and will enrol 100 students in its inaugural class.
“The Academy has been years in planning, so we are delighted to be opening its doors this September,” Choo, who is a trained professor, said in a statement. “London is a global fashion hub and has created many of the world’s most exciting and ground-breaking designers.”
The 72-year-old designer – who was inspired by his children, Danny and Emily, to open his own college – added: “My vision for the academy is to teach them my knowledge for design, but also to have a business mind as well.”
