Italian yacht house Benetti is redefining the idea of life at sea with Clear Waves, an ambitious 70-metre megayacht concept developed in collaboration with LUCA DINI Design & Architecture and longevity and wellness specialist The Longevity Suite. Rather than treating wellbeing as an amenity added to a conventional yacht, the project places human health at the centre of its architecture, bringing together five interconnected principles environment, movement, social interaction, mental and spiritual wellbeing, and technology to create a vessel conceived around long-term vitality and a more balanced way of living at sea.
At the heart of the design is a deliberate departure from traditional yacht planning. Instead of hiding the principal wellness facilities deep within the vessel, Clear Waves elevates its main sanctuary to the upper deck, surrounding it with greenery and natural elements. The space incorporates areas dedicated to relaxation, a central food-and-beverage island, thermal water experiences and advanced treatment technologies. Throughout the yacht, purified air, circadian lighting and environments designed to encourage restorative sleep extend the wellness philosophy beyond a single spa, creating a continuous atmosphere focused on recovery and renewal.
The yacht’s architectural signature is the Glass Dome, an extraordinary 400-square-metre, two-level structure designed to immerse guests in uninterrupted 360-degree views of the surrounding seascape. More than an observation space, the dome has been engineered as an independent micro environment, combining translucent photovoltaic technology across more than 60 per cent of its surface with low-emissivity, UV filtering glass and a direct-expansion HVAC system. Its geometry also harnesses the natural stack effect to promote continuous, draught-free air circulation, allowing technology and architecture to work together rather than compete with the surrounding environment.
The partnership with The Longevity Suite takes the concept further, giving guests access to personalised diagnostics and a selection of advanced wellness and biohacking treatments while travelling. The onboard programme includes whole-body cryotherapy, dry floating, near-infrared treatments, hydrogen-oxygen therapy and the Revital Chamber hyperbaric system, creating the possibility of maintaining an individualised health and recovery programme without leaving the yacht.
Environmental responsibility is equally embedded within the concept. Developed as part of Benetti’s Green Routephilosophy and engineered with Meccano Engineering, Clear Waves incorporates a hybrid propulsion system with dual-fuel capability prepared for both HVO biofuel and methanol, with the configuration validated by Lloyd’s Register. Around 250 square metres of solar panels can generate up to 120 kWh of electricity, while intelligent energy management, heat recovery and advanced emissions-control technologies further reduce the vessel’s environmental footprint. The result is a vision of yachting in which luxury is measured not simply by size, materials or performance, but by the quality of life the yacht can create where the sea becomes a setting for restoration, connection and longevity.
