Rolls Royce is introducing a limited-edition version of the Phantom, called the Tempus Collection inspired by time, astronomical phenomena, and the infinite reaches of the universe. Time-inspired range is strictly limited to just 20 examples, all of which have already been allocated to clients.
All Tempus Collection models come with a Kairos Blue paint finish. The finish is glimmering with jewel-like mica blue flakes, casting various shades of color as light touches the surface, representing the night sky “embody the darkness and mystery of space,” said Rolls-Royce.
The Spirit of Ecstasy hood ornament in Phantom Tempus can be custom-engraved with a unique date, location, or number that is “of particular significance to the client,” adds Rolls-Royce.
Most of the drama happens inside, where interior designers added a mesmerizing headliner that represents a pulsar. Made out of fiber-optic lighting and intricate bespoke embroidery. The nearest pulsar is said to be 280 light-years (1,680 trillion miles) away, but the Pulsar Headliner is a few inches above your head.
Stylists transformed the dashboard into a work of art they call the Frozen Flow of Time. This unique artwork graces the fascia from which the clock is deliberately omitted to signify the Rolls-Royce owner’s freedom from time and its limitations. Milled out of a single billet of aluminum to form 100 individually contoured columns, the piece represents the 100-million-year period of a rotational spin of a pulsar star.
A description of the Gallery can be found on an engraved plaque in the glove compartment, together with a quotation from Albert Einstein, “The distinction between past, present, and future is only a stubbornly persistent illusion”. The door cards are also bespoke, featuring hundreds of illuminated perforations, additional perforations in contrasting leather add a greater depth and detail to the effect, providing an atmospheric aura even when not illuminated.
Rolls-Royce will deliver each Tempus with a custom-built champagne chest whose table features a hand-painted pulsar. Discover Opulent Club on Apple News.
