Parmigiani Fleurier unveiled a new Bugatti Type 390 watch at the 2018 Geneva International Motor Show to commemorate the Bugatti Chiron Sport, that adopts the car’s aesthetic features. The white gold case of the Bugatti Type 390 is paired with black carbon elements to reflect the car’s body and give the watch its streamlined look. Like past Bugatti x Parmigiani collaborations, this has a 12° articulated, wedge-shaped case (measuring 42.2 mm x 57.7 mm) that is 18.4 mm at its thickest point.
The black nickel dial flange features red luminescent numerals, while the hands are also adorned with this coating. The red strap boasts black stitching to continue the Bugatti Chiron’s contrasts around the wrist. The case is made of white gold and has black carbon fiber inserts on the flanks.
This watch is Parmigiani’s way to showcase how different colors and textures can be combined to customize the Type 390’s appearance. Customers will be able to select the materials of the case and buckle, the colors and stitching of the leather strap, their desired color for the sapphire crystals and more. In this regard, Parmigiani Fleurier guarantees each unique combination to be a one of a kind piece. Finally, they can choose the color of the sapphire crystals enclosing the movement.
The watch is driven by caliber PF390 which beats at 4Hz, measures 25 mm x 37.5 mm, has 302 components, 32 jewels, 2 series-coupled barrels and is good for 80-hours of power reserve. The tube shaped movement is attached to a square shaped dial at a 12-degree angle that display hours and minutes. A worm screw is used to transfer the power from the tubular-shaped engine to the inclined dial. A tiny one-minute flying tourbillon on the end of the tube regulates the movement.
Retail on the Parmigiani Fleurier Bugatti Type 390 is $300,000 and it will be available in June 2018.
