Presented by Zenith at Baselworld 2018 in a brushed titanium case with openworked or closed dial, the Defy Classic is now available in ultra hard black ceramic. This material is new to the line and provides a highly scratch resistant surface and shares styling cues with the original Zenith Defy from the 1970s in terms of the case design.

Forged from wear-proof black zirconium oxide ceramic, the Defy Classic Black Ceramic case measures 41 mm x 10.75 mm, and is finished with a satin-brushed surface on the top of the case and bezel and accentuated with fully polished sides. The multi-layered open dial is characterized by the stellar element which emphasises the blend between display and movement.

The faceted hands and applied markers are treated with Super-LumiNova SLN C1 come nightfall they emit a subtle green glow from the Super-LumiNova® SLN C1 coating, recalling the night-lights of a city that never sleeps.

Visible through the open dial as well as the sapphire case back of the DEFY Classic, the automatic Elite 670 manufacture movement is fitted with a silicon pallet-lever and escape-wheel.
