Suntory adds a touch of sakura to its famous blend this year. New limited edition Suntory whiskies are set for worldwide release, Hibiki Blossom Harmony 202. The limited edition is blended using the original Hibiki base and new whisky that has been aged in cherry blossom wood barrels.
For the unacquainted, Hibiki is Suntory’s premium blended whisky range, which includes the illustrious Hibiki 21 Year Old, six-time winner of the World’s Best Blended Whisky Award at the prestigious World Whiskies Awards. For Hibiki Blossom Harmony 202 it’s the first Hibiki to be aged in sakura wood. The special edition is targeted for gifts and celebrations, with a festive, crimson red branding on the label. It comes in a nice looking box that features blooming sakura graphics.
This rare blend, only being made in limited numbers, is said to display a gorgeous aroma reminiscent of the blossoms that grow from the cherry tree, with mellow, harmonious flavours and a lingering yet refreshing finish with an ABV of 43%. Blossom Harmony is set to go on sale around Japan from 25 May at a recommended retail price of 8,000 yen (US$77.04). Discover Opulent Club on Apple News.
