Blancpain Villeret Traditional Chinese Calendar 2025 “Year of the Snake”

Blancpain honors the Year of the Snake with a limited-edition masterpiece that blends Chinese and Gregorian calendars. The Villeret Traditional Chinese Calendar 2025 features a luxurious platinum case with a green Grand Feu enamel dial, the Villeret Calendrier Chinois Traditionnel or Villeret Traditional Chinese Calendar 2025 is a mechanical marvel.

In 2012, Blancpain achieved a world first with the launch of its Villeret Calendrier Chinois Traditionnelwristwatch associating a complex Chinese calendar with the Gregorian date and moon phases, a symbolic conjunction of Eastern and Western traditions.  Building on this legacy, this latest release marks a first for the collection, featuring a platinum case paired with a beautiful green Grand Feu enamel dial.

The green Grand Feu enamel dial is a showcase of intricate functionality. At the 12 o’clock aperture, the Wood Snake symbol marks the zodiac sign of the current lunar year. The dial features applied white gold Roman numerals and hands, with a wealth of complications arranged harmoniously: a double-hour numeral counter at 12 o’clock, a sub-dial at 3 o’clock displaying the 10-year cycle, a moon phase at 6 o’clock, and a leap month indicator at 9 o’clock. Surrounding the dial is the Gregorian date, elegantly indicated by a serpentine hand.

Renowned for its intuition and perspicacity, the snake takes pride of place on the 22K white gold rotor of this Villeret Calendrier Chinois Traditionnel 2025 with its frosted finish. Brought to life in Blancpain’s Métiers d’Art workshop, the reptile has been delicately drawn by in-house artisans. This zodiac sign is accompanied by natural ruby and an engraving in Chinese characters indicating the words ‘serpent’ and ‘wood’.

The watch is powered by the Calibre 3638, and its 464 components and capable of delivering a mighty 7-day power reserve thanks to three series-coupled barrels, the automatic movement beats at 4 Hz and is equipped with a silicon balance spring. Traditional finishings decorate the movement, and the platinum features a beautifully engraved figure of the Wooden Snake flanked by a red ruby.

The watch comes with a chocolate brown alligator leather strap, it is limited to 50 pieces, and priced at CHF 81,000, which is approximately AED 338,000.
