Diageo is celebrating the Chinese New Year with the launch of a limited-edition Johnnie Walker Blue Label bottle featuring a year of the dog design. Themed around the “precious bond between man and dog”, the limited edition JW bottles come adorned with exclusive drawings by Taiwanese artist Page Tsou.
This is the fifth instalment from Diageo for the annual limited-edition series for the whisky brand. Page Tsou said: “It is an honour to have been commissioned to create the Johnnie Walker Blue Label year of the dog bottle. The precious design consists of a total of four dogs all chosen for their special meaning in Asia. The design shows a striding man being followed by his loving dog around the world with lanterns, fireworks and dancing dragons for an added celebratory charm.
Johnnie Walker Blue Label is a Scotch crafted by a team of 12 whisky makers, led by Jim Beveridge. They select rare single malt and grain whiskies, each chosen for their exceptional quality and character. Dayalan Nayager, managing director of Diageo Global Travel, said: “During this festive period it’s wonderful to be able to provide whisky consumers with a gift that is luxurious and unique from such an iconic whisky brand.
The rare single-malt is a perfect way to begin the new year celebrations and for £175 ($ 237) per one-liter bottle. The bottle is available now in selected travel retail outlets globally.
