MB&F Unveils Limited-Edition HM8 Mark 2 in Purple

MB&F unveils a new 33-piece limited-edition HM8 Mark 2 in vibrant metallic purple. First launched in 2023 with a white model and annual color variants, past editions included British racing green and glossy blue.

Like its predecessors, the automotive-inspired HM8 Mark 2 mirrors the sleek profile of a supercar, featuring an engine mounted on a water-resistant titanium chassis with added body panels. Following editions in white, British racing green, and blue, the latest version sports shimmering purple coachwork a nod to the bold disco era of the 1970s. As with past editions, the sculpted case is crafted from grade 5 titanium, with lightweight CarbonMacrolon panels sandwiching the complex sapphire crystal. Made from a carbon nanotube-infused polymer, CarbonMacrolon is eight times lighter than steel. The case retains the same specs as previous editions: 47mm long, 41.5mm wide, and 19mm high at the display end.

The complex double-bubble sapphire crystal reveals key mechanics and fills the movement with light. From above, the 22k gold battle axe rotor is on full display. The 247-component 3D engine, developed by MB&F, is powered by a Girard-Perregaux automatic base with a 42-hour power reserve. Its standout feature: a 22k gold battle axe rotor with one blade just 0.2mm thick—too fine to machine, so it’s precision-stamped with engraving.

A darker anthracite finish adds contrast, balanced by a cool-toned silver rotor. The crown features a “double de-clutch” system—push in and turn three-quarters to set the time. Limited to just 33 pieces, priced at $88,000, the HM8 Mark 2 in Purple is available through MB&F retailers.
