Waldorf Astoria Opens First Hotel In Bangkok

The Waldorf Astoria Bangkok hotel has officially opened. Gorgeously contemporary and yet timelessly elegant, the Waldorf Astoria Bangkok begins the iconic hotel brand’s first journey into Southeast Asia. Waldorf Astoria in Bangkok is located in the Ratchaprasong intersection, near the Erawan Shrine, Gaysorn Village mall and both lines of Bangkok Mass Transit System (BTS) Skytrain.

Designed by award-winning Hong Kong architect André Fu and his design studio AFSO, the Waldorf Astoria Bangkok will provide guests with a holistic hotel experience that unites the building’s contemporary architecture, with Thai artisanal tradition. The hotel has 171 guest rooms and suites, and its top three floors comprise three dining outlets. There are Bull & Bear that specializes in grilled meats and seafood, The Loft bar that was inspired by the original 1935 Waldorf Astoria Bar Book and The Champagne Bar that offers a more intimate environment.

“With Asia Pacific enjoying a golden age of travel, we are witnessing unprecedented demand for our brands and are creating some of the world’s greatest luxury hotels,” said Alan Watts, president, Hilton, Asia Pacific.

The Waldorf Astoria Bangkok is also primed to be a luxury dining destination not just for travellers, but for the local population as well. The property has three different restaurant concepts, a lounge and two bars that can be enjoyed.
