After months of testing prototypes on public roads and closed tracks, the convertible Aston Martin DBS Superleggera Volante is finally here the car that produces a spectacular and relentless level of performance.
The Volante shares its 715-hp twin-turbo 5.2-liter V-12 and eight-speed automatic transmission with the DBS Superleggera coupe, and the performance is nearly identical, that produces 715BHP 900Nm of torque, and lets a ferocious car reach a top speed of 211mph. It covers 0-62mph in just 3.6 seconds and 0-100mph in 6.7 seconds.
As for the convertible roof, Aston Martin’s engineers designed it so it flows with the overall DBS Superleggera design, making it appear as seamless as the hardtop’s. Incorporating eight layers of insulation materials and acoustically enhancing materials, the canopy greatly improves the comfort of the interior cabin for all occupants when up. It takes 14 seconds to open and 16 seconds to close the roof. For the first time on an Aston, the windshield surround is available in carbon fiber, and the rear tonneau cover can be finished in carbon as well.
Like the standard DBS Superleggera, the Volante will also be able to be personalized to fit the customer’s unique styles with a host of options. Aston Martin state that the DBS Superleggera Volante will carry a price tag of $329,100 when the company begins deliveries in Q3 of 2019. Discover Opulent Club on Apple News.
