A. Lange & Söhne unveils the third limited edition model of the Lange 1 “25th Anniversary” series. First introduced in 2003, the Grand Lange 1 was initially criticised for meddling with an iconic design.
The Grand Lange 1 “25th Anniversary” is strictly limited to 25 pieces, all crafted from white gold with an argenté-coloured, recessed dial graced with thermally blued steel hands and blue inscriptions. In the Grande Lange 1, which has all the characteristics of the original Lange 1, has perfect simplicity comes to the forefront as usual. For this model with a diameter greater than the 38.5mm platform, a wider mechanism was designed to achieve the same design codes and perfection.
Beating at 21,600 vibrations per hour, Grand Lange 1 “25th Anniversary” is powered by the hand-wound movement Caliber L.095.1. Visible through the sapphire-crystal caseback, the movement consists of 397 parts lavishly finished by hand. Seven of the 42 bearing jewels are seated in gold chatons secured with blued screws. Although the Grand Lange 1 is thinner (8.8 mm vs 9.8 mm), its power reserve is still 72 hours.
The argenté-coloured, recessed dial of the special model is graced with thermally blued steel hands and blue inscriptions. Like the other anniversary watches in the set, the engraving on the balance cock is filled with dark blue lacquer, and also includes a “25” that replicates Lange’s oversized date displa. A blue alligator leather strap and a white-gold prong buckle emphasise the elegance of the watch. The MSRP is 43,700 EUR. alange-soehne.com
