Lexus is taking its pursuit of luxury lifestyle offshore with a production version of its LY 650 yacht. Based on the Lexus Sport Yacht Concept from 2017. The 65-foot vessel is the result of a collaboration between Lexus, Wisconsin-based Marquis Yachts and studio Nuvolari Lenard.
The yacht is a floating amalgam of Japanese craftsmanship, Italian design and American manufacturing. The shape of the hull, the abundant volume of the stern, and other elements, in addition to beautiful curved lines, give the LY 650 unprecedented and distinctive exterior styling.
“The LY 650 symbolizes the challenge taken by Lexus, which aspires to be a true luxury lifestyle brand, to venture beyond the automobile,” Toyota President Akio Toyoda said in a statement. “I am truly looking forward to seeing the advanced, high quality LY 650 display its beauty on the oceans across the globe.”
With Venice-based Nuvolari Lenard in charge of interiors, all three decks are elegant and make clever use of space. Hand-molded and custom-painted hulls house custom-fitted, real wood trim and furniture as well as hand-sewn seats. The salon’s efficient layout features dual captain’s seats and sofas set forward and a galley set aft. Below the salon are three elegant berths with 6 feet and 6 inches of headroom, each with a private head with shower.
The LY 650 is powered by dual Volvo Penta IPS1350 marine engines making 1,000 horsepower each, or buyers can choose 800 or 900 hp engines instead.
The LY 650 will be on display Oct. 30 through Nov. 3 at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show in Florida. Discover Opulent Club on Apple News.
