Porsche has taken the wraps off the Taycan Cross Turismo is a lifted, wagon version of its electric sedan with body cladding and SUV aspirations, much like the Audi A6 Allroad and the Mercedes-Benz E450 All-Terrain.
The new vehicle is basically the same EV you already know and love just longer, more spacious and with a bigger rear. Oh, and it has lifts for off-roading. The Taycan Cross Turismo starts at $90,900 (plus $1,350 destination). Upgrading to the 4S takes the price to $110,300. The Turbo is $153,500, and the range-topping Turbo S goes for $187,600. Each model will be equipped with two battery packs that hold up to 83.7-kWh of energy and two permanent-magnet synchronous motors, one on each axle. There’s also the Intelligent Range Manager that adjusts max speed and air conditioning to minimize the charging necessary along a given route.
They all get twin motors and all-wheel drive and two permanent-magnet synchronous motors that generate a combined 469 horsepower in the Taycan Cross Turismo 4, 562 in the 4S, 670 in the Turbo, and 750 hp in the Turbo S. As for speed, the Cross Turismo Turbo S can sprint from zero to 60 mph in just 2.7 seconds, which is just 0.1 seconds slower than the sedan version. The 4, 4S and Turbo can accomplish the same feat in 4.8, 3.9 and 3.1 seconds, respectively. Turbo Cross Turismo with a range of 245 to 281 miles, whereas the Taycan 4S Cross Turismo and Taycan 4 Cross Turismo has a range of 241 to 281 miles
All four versions of the Cross Turismo come with adaptive air suspension, which can be used to quickly raise the vehicle’s clearance by 0.39 inches (10 mm) and stiffen up the ride when in “Gravel Mode.” The Off-Road Design Package includes a revised body kit with extra cladding on the lower valence, side skirts, and rear diffuser. Additionally, Porsche is offering two new electric bicycles to go with the Taycan Cross Turismo: the eBike Sport for street use, and the eBike Cross for the trails.
