French fashion label Louis Vuitton is honoring the 200th anniversary of its founder’s birthday has unveiled a new collection of high jewelry.
Comprised of 90 opulent designs, the collection boasts sapphires and rubies, some of which are the result of years of global searching. This fittingly titled Bravery is brainchild of Louis Vuitton’s artistic director for jewelry and watches Francesca Amfitheatrof.
Designer Francesca Amfitheatrof has ensured that each piece is an ode to the Louis Vuitton aesthetic as the subtle silhouettes of the Monogram flower can be seen carefully placed amongst pristine jewels that have been manipulated into deeply intricate and newly imagined designs such as The Arrow, La Constellation d’Hercule and L’ Aventure.
“Driven by his curiosity about the world, he embarked on that incredible journey across France. That’s why we have named this collection Bravery,” Amfitheatrof said in a statement. “It’s not a word often used in high jewelry. Yet these notions of determination and adventure are intrinsic to Louis Vuitton, and we wanted to express them through this collection.”
