From June 5 through 7, 2022, champagne house Veuve Clicquot is taking over legendary train the Orient Express to celebrate its 250th anniversary this summer, the maison has partnered with LVMH brand Belmond to curate a sparkling, one-of-a-kind experience for Champagne connoisseurs on board the Venice Simplon-Orient-Express.
The journey beings in Reims, France, Veuve Clicquot’s home since its inception in 1772. In Reims, guests are invited to an immersive lunch and to sample the Maison’s cuvées in the Veuve Clicquot Crayères alongside cellar master Didier Mariotti before boarding the train. On aboard, you’ll find cabins that evoke the elegance of a bygone era and are rich with craftsmanship. You can opt for a cozy Twin Cabin or upgrade to an exclusive Cabin Suite or one of six Grand Suites that come complete with an ensuite. If you do book one of the suites, you’ll also get a celebratory breakfast in the dining car during the trip and a night at Veuve Clicquot’s Hôtel du Marc in Reims before departure.

The carriages are exactly as you’d expect of the Orient Express, grand and very flashy. The following morning, the train meanders through the Italian Alps and then down into Venice. There, guests will journey by boat to Cipriani, A Belmond Hotel. Finally, guests are invited to Veuve Clicquot’s Sunset Ball to toast Veuve Clicquot one more time.
