Rolls Royce has unveiled a new exclusive version of its Cullinan, the Rolls Royce Black Badge Cullinan ‘Blue Shadow’, an extraordinary masterpiece that delves into the captivating allure and enigma of space. The car will be limited to just 62 examples worldwide and it will come with a range of bespoke features.
In crafting this exceptional work of art, visionary designers at Rolls-Royce have ingeniously sought inspiration from the Kármán Line, an intangible frontier located 62 miles above the Earth’s surface, where the terrestrial atmosphere gracefully yields to the boundless expanse of outer space. The most striking feature of the Blue Shadow is its stunning exterior paint, named “stardust blue.” This unique colour is based on the deep blue shade of the upper layer of the Earth’s atmosphere. It creates an attractive blue halo around the car, giving it an out-of-the-world impression.
The iconic Spirit of Ecstasy emblem is meticulously crafted using 3D printing techniques in titanium, coated with a delicate blue-tinted lacquer that enhances its pearlescent appearance while highlighting the texture of the titanium. Engravings of the Black Badge infinity logo and ‘Blue Shadow’ Private Collection name, filled with Charles Blue, adorn the Spirit of Ecstasy base. The wheels of Blue Shadow are subtly darkened using a translucent lacquer, completing the exquisite exterior aesthetic.
Inside the brand’s Starlight Headliner has been taken to a new level with an intricate Moon embroidery, surrounded by an array of stars. The Starlight Headliner contains a total of 1,183 stars – 799 white and 384 blue. The front and rear seats feature a unique perforated artwork, inspired by the view of Earth from space. The pattern on the seats is meant to mimic the ever-shifting clouds swirling over the continents and oceans. The fiber-optic stars twinkle, adding to the headliner’s enchanting glow and overall ambiance.
The bespoke leather seats now feature a pattern inspired by the view of Earth from space, utilizing two different tiny perforations that are meant to conjure up images of the world’s landmasses and oceans covered in swirling clouds. Each seat is made up of 75,000 perforations each individually placed on all four chairs along with the picnic table backs as well.
The perforation pattern extends to the backs of the picnic tables, which, when lowered, feature a Piano Black veneer finish with a glass sparkle effect, reminiscent of the view into the depths of space. Additionally, each table includes the theme text of the collection, inlaid in polished aluminum beneath the top lacquer layer, emphasizing the extraordinary perspective and ability to touch the stars offered by the Blue Shadow experience.
Lastly the the Rolls-Royce Bespoke Collective created a series of unique accessories for the Black Badge Cullinan Blue Shadow. This includes an indoor car cover that echoes the pattern seen on the seats and a unique luggage set. Buyers can also commission an exact 1:8 scale replica of their full-size Black Badge Cullinan Blue Shadow, featuring fully functioning exterior and interior lights, opening and closing coach doors and an interior recreating all the Collection details, including the Bespoke Illuminated Collection Treadplates.
The production of this new Bespoke version of Black Badge Cullinan is limited to just 62 units, available exclusively through the brand’s Private Offices. And as expected, all of the units have already been spoken for.
