Merging luxury and digital fashion yet again, the fashion house Louis Vuitton has revealed an exclusive offering for its already existing NFT owners a limited-edition virtual and physical mini trunk designed by the brand’s iconic artistic director, Nicolas Ghesquière. For this digital creation, he drew inspiration from the model of his trunk-shaped mini cube bag, unveiled at the Spring-Summer 2024 fashion show in September.
The digital version of the trunk is white and gold, surrounded by an orange glow, and includes a physical counterpart that new owners can claim in March 2024. Featuring the maison’s “damier” motif, the case arrives with gold hardware details and a crossbody chain attachment. It costs €6,000 and 200 are available and are reserved exclusively only to those who already own one of the Louis Vuitton Treasure Trunk NFTs, a program it launched in June 2022.
This is the first major project dedicated to Web3 to be carried out directly by the brand, leading it to sell digital products for the first time in its history.
This launch follows the exclusive release of 200 orange monogram Speedy 40 bags by men’s creative director Pharrell Williams; the design was unveiled during his debut show during Paris Fashion Week Men’s in June and made available for €9,000. Additionally, as the fashion titan continues integrating groundbreaking technology with designer wear, it offers more exclusive products and experiences to its high-end clientele — a win-win for the designer and consumers alike.
