In celebration of 60 years of the legendary partnership between Aston Martin and the James Bond film franchise, Aston Martin presents the DB12 Goldfinger Edition, the limited grand tourer pays tribute to one of Agent 007’s fiercest rivals.
The the car is powered by a twin-turbo 4.0-liter V-8 that makes 671 hp and 590 ft lbs of torque provides a more indulgent James Bond driving experience – iconic Silver Birch paint color, which is the original color of the Goldfinger DB5 and probably the most famous British hue after Racing Green. Four gorgeous 21-inch silver wheels, black brake calipers, unique gold side strakes, and a bespoke Aston Martin logo in silver with black enamel. There are also 18k gold-plated accents, a Goldfinger 60th anniversary logo, and gold metal fibers woven into the 2X2 Twill Gloss Carbon Fiber trim. There are only 60 cars as part of this special edition series. But these exterior touches really serve to tease the interior, which has been more substantially dressed up to Bond-worthy specifications.
Inside, the DB12 Goldfinger Edition is nothing short of spectacular. Featuring leather Sports Plus that feature a Prince of Wales check perforation pattern meant to remind us of the bespoke suits James Bond wears. It’s also present on the doors and the headliner. The car’s luxurious feel is elevated with 18k gold-plated accents, a Goldfinger 60th anniversary logo, and gold metal fibers woven into the 2X2 Twill Gloss Carbon Fiber trim. The gear selector draws inspiration from the golden tracking device used by Bond in Goldfinger, while gold metal fibers weaved into the carbon-fiber trim add a subtle yet stunning touch.
The highly exclusive car also comes with some equally exclusive gifts, including a custom car cover, a Silver Birch speedform model, a section of 35mm film showing the famed Furka Pass chase scene, and a limited-edition magazine—all presented in a Globe-Trotter attache featuring the same Prince of Wales-pattern inside and Silver Birch color on the outside.
The special edition of the grand tourer will be built by Q, the marque’s bespoke division. Additionally, owners will receive a unique piece of Bond memorabilia a 35mm film reel from the iconic Furka Pass scene in Goldfinger. Aston Martin will build just 60 examples of the DB12 Goldfinger Edition. No price has been announced, though we imagine it will cost well north of the model’s $245,000 starting price.
