Whenever Montegrappa launches a new pen collection, you know it will be special, and that’s certainly the case with its Goldfinger Special Issue Limited edition. This limited-edition writing instrument marks 60 years of Goldfinger (1964), one of the most iconic films in the James Bond franchise. Released worldwide starting November 15, 2024, the collection offers an exceptional fusion of artistry, performance, and spy-inspired sophistication.
The collection is available in fountain pen and rollerball editions, designed with what Montegrappa calls “performance, refined presence, and spycraft styling.” This homage to the legendary Goldfinger film is not only a collector’s item for Bond enthusiasts but also a testament to Montegrappa’s dedication to innovation in luxury craftsmanship.
The pens use an aluminium and brass base and incorporate oxidisation and ion plating, enhanced with sandblasting to produce a blunt, golden sheen. The result is a blunt, matte sheen that evokes the opulence and greed of Auric Goldfinger, he main protagonist in the 1964 cinema classic.
Tactile and visually striking, the pens feature knurled and fluted components, offering both aesthetic appeal and enhanced grip, and are clothed with an industrial-tone hard satin finish. A standout element is the brass hollow-point cap top, which incorporates a rifled steel insert – a nod to the iconic gun barrel sequence that opens every Bond film. This attention to detail underscores Montegrappa’s ability to blend storytelling and technical mastery.
Each fountain pen in the collection is fitted with a 14K gold nib and are built for travel with a convenient cartridge/converter filling. The robust, all-metal construction, weighing 55g for the fountain pen and 60g for the rollerball, provides an empowering feel in hand. These writing instruments not only deliver impeccable ergonomics but also exhibit engineering sophistication rarely found in conventional pens, and each variant is supplied with a passport notebook and exclusive Goldfinger travel folio.
All Montegrappa writing instruments are manufactured individually by hand. The pens are priced from €750 / $750 and are available now from department stores, fine stationers, watch and jewelry boutiques, and via 007store.com and montegrappa.com.
