Bugatti and luxury goods company Asprey have announced a limited edition collection of metal objet eggs. The Royale Edition of the new Asprey Bugatti Egg Collection is designed to echo Bugatti’s distinctive horseshoe grille. The limited Royal Edition Bugatti Egg Collection will exist both in the real world and as NFT generative artwork, a move which Bugatti states will allow them to last indefinitely.
Each eggshell is carefully made from carbon fiber and crafted into the egg shape during a complex process to ensure that it is completely free from disproportion or imperfection. It’s then encased within a sterling silver diamond weave lattice, gently sloped downwards to a curved base.
On the surface, you’ll find a “Dancing Elephant” motif, recreated in perfect detail from one of Rembrandt Bugatti’s original sculptures. This is the same art that adorned the bonnet of the Bugatti Type 41 Royale, and to achieve this, Asprey traveled to Bugatti’s headquarters in France to accurately 3D scan the mascot of one of the few remaining Type 41 Royale cars.
These eggs are encased within a sterling silver diamond weave lattice, gently angled downwards to a curved base portraying movement and echoing Asprey’s heritage in jewelry as well as the ornate furniture designs of Carlo Bugatti and the Art Nouveau, an era significant to both brands.
They will be limited to 111 eggs, each with an NFT version, priced from $200,000 USD. The collection will coincide with the opening of the Asprey Studio Gallery in Mayfair in April 2023.
