Piaget’s latest tribute to Andy Warhol brings the artist’s vivid visual language to the dial. The Andy Warhol “Camouflage” is the second watch created through the Maison’s collaboration with the Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts. Limited to 86 pieces, it takes inspiration from Warhol’s 1986 camouflage self-portraits, translating their saturated colours and graphic pattern into a composition of gold and ornamental stone.

The connection between Warhol and Piaget began long before the partnership was formalised. A devoted collector, he owned seven watches by the Maison, among them a distinctive cushion-shaped model that would later take his name. Designed by Piaget’s then artistic director Jean-Claude Gueit, the 45 mm reference 15102 was produced in limited numbers from 1972 to 1977. Piaget revisited the design in 2014 as the Black Tie Vintage. A decade later, a licensing agreement with the Andy Warhol Foundation gave the Maison permission to use the artist’s name and create an annual series inspired by his work.

The inaugural edition, “Collage,” arrived in 2025 with a dial combining pink opal, green chrysoprase, and yellow serpentine. For the 2026 release, Piaget turns to Warhol’s “Camouflage” portraits, where an intense camouflage pattern overlays the artist’s face. Rather than replicate a particular canvas, the watch interprets its spirit through contrasting materials, finishes, and shades of blue.

The “Camouflage” dial is composed of sodalite, turquoise, satin-finished yellow gold, and polished rose gold. Its 27 elements form a geometric pattern, with the natural variation of the stones set against the reflective surfaces of the precious metals. Piaget says the intricate marquetry required more than 100 hours to develop and produce.

The combination draws on a tradition that has been central to Piaget’s design identity since the early 1960s: pairing gold with ornamental stones. Here, the technique gives the dial depth and texture while echoing the layered visual effect of Warhol’s source material. The composition sits within a 45 x 43 mm cushion-shaped case made from rhodium-finished 18-carat white gold. In place of a conventional bezel, gadroon detailing creates a sculptural frame around the dial. Dauphine hands indicate the hours and minutes, and a blue alligator strap brings the palette together.

Power comes from Piaget’s self-winding Manufacture 501P1 movement. Measuring 20.5 mm in diameter and 3.63 mm thick, the calibre contains 23 jewels and beats at 28,800 vibrations per hour, or 4 Hz. It offers an approximately 40-hour power reserve. Its finishing includes circular Côtes de Genève, a circular-grained plate, bevelled bridges, and blue screws. The tungsten oscillating weight is finished in slate grey. On the caseback, Warhol’s signature appears alongside the individual number of the limited edition. Water resistance is rated to 3 bar.

The Piaget Andy Warhol “Camouflage” Watch, reference G0A51242, is priced at €92,000, including VAT. Limited to 86 examples, it continues the Maison’s exploration of Warhol’s art through its own expertise in precious metals and ornamental stone marquetry. Further details are available at Piaget.
