You can’t say that Porsche doesn’t give its buyers enough variety, because the German company has expanded its switchback-friendly catalog with the 718 Cayman T and the 718 Boxster T making what are arguably Porsche’s most driver-focused cars even better. They will join the 911 Carrera T in showrooms in 2019.
Both Ts are powered by the same turbocharged, 2.0-liter flat-four engine tuned to deliver 300 horsepower at 6,500 rpm and 280 pound-feet of torque at 2,150 rpm, and a 0-60 sprint of 4.7 and 4.9 seconds respectively, same as the regular versions. Porsche offers both six-speed manual and PDK gearbox options. Optional extras that come standard on the T model include the Porsche Active Suspension Management system, active engine mounts, a locking rear differential, and torque vectoring.
Visually, each 718 T gets Titanium Gray wheels with matching mirror caps. The Sport Chrono package is standard as well, adding selectable driving modes on the steering wheel and launch control for cars equipped with PDK. A thinning of options inside is said to offer more of a purist driving experience. Buyers can choose to nix the console-mount infotainment system completely, swapping the screen for storage. Door handles become fabric loops to pull.
Both the 718 Cayman T and 718 Boxster T are available to order now. Pricing starts at 63,047 euros for the 718 Cayman T and 65,070 for the 718 Boxster T, figures that correspond to about $72,000 and $75,000, respectively. Discover Opulent Club on Apple News.
