This week Ferrari pulls back the curtain on the most powerful production spider on the market, the 812 GTS. The 812 GTS is the spider version of the 812 Superfast, from which it borrows both its specifications and performance.
The GTS shares its hardware with the Superfast, meaning a naturally aspirated 6.5-liter V12 that produces 789 HP at 8,500 rpm and 529 lb-ft of peak torque at 7,000 rpm. It loses a solid roof for a folding hardtop design that opens or closes in just 14 seconds and at speeds of up to 28 mph. One ace up the 812 GTS’ sleeve is the electrically operated rear screen acting as a windbreaker. It makes the car more enjoyable and comfortable when the roof is down.
The draped design of the flanks visually shortens the tail and is characterised by sharply slanted crease lines and impressively muscular wheelarches. The rear diffuser has also been reshaped and sports an additional flap to compensate for the absence of the Superfast’s aero by-pass above the rear fenders.
The new 812 GTS also features a new, highly sculptural and model-specific multi-spoke forged wheel. Owners may opt to choose one of three versions: diamond-finish, liquid silver and Grigio Scuro.
The cockpit specs weren’t provided for the 812 GTS. The dash features a classical instrument cluster, an aluminium sail panel and carbon fiber accents for a streamlined look and an F1-inspired layout. An optional seven-inch touchscreen is offered on the passenger-side display. Discover Opulent Club on Apple News.
