Hublot has announced a pair of limited edition Big Bang chronograph models to capture both the past and present of the Scuderia Ferrari Formula One team will be celebrating its 1000th Grand Prix appearance on Sunday, September 13th the only team to have taken part in every World Championship Formula 1 race since it was established in 1950. The event will take place at the Mugello Circuit in Italy.
The model is available in two versions, with both released in a limited edition of 20 pieces. According Hublot, the first of the two limited editions “honours the legend of the prancing horse and represents the brand’s heritage”.
The first is inspired by the dramatic prancing horse that serves as the Ferrari logo and has a 45mm case forged from polished white gold with features the engraving “Limited Edition x/20” on the back. It is delivered with two straps that are interchangeable through Hublot’s exclusive patented One Click system offer the option of securing yours with Pecari leather, like that originally used for the gloves of drivers, or an embossed one crafted from Schedoni leather. The second is made from embossed black Schedoni leather with black top stitching, on the same rubber base.
The second edition represents the present and the future of Scuderia Ferrari. The 45 mm case is created from a unique carbon-ceramic developed jointly by Hublot with Scuderia Ferrari. This second version comes on a woven strap made from SuperFabric® as well as a second leather strap made from embossed black Schedoni leather with black top stitching on a black rubber base.
Both are equipped with an in-house HUB1243 Unico Manufacture movement that features a flyback chronograph with column wheel and a power reserve of 72 hours. The mechanism can be seen through the crystal on the back of the case, which bears the logo ‘1000 GP’.
Each Big Bang Ferrari 1000 GP is delivered in a presentation box fitted with a rotor, a mechanical device that automatically winds the watch movement as it rotates. An outer case contains a pair of driving gloves, one of which is signed by Charles Leclerc and the other by Sebastian Vettel, Scuderia Ferrari’s current drivers. Discover Opulent Club on Apple News.
