Bowers & Wilkins’ new Formation Suite, a luxury high-end audio system for the whole home, has officially launched today. Formation Suite: a lineup of high-resolution wireless audio products built on proprietary technology and boasting inimitable B&W style.
The lineup includes a nine-speaker soundbar, a pair of bookshelf speakers using the same top-mounted tweeter and Continuum cone driver as their wired speakers, a wedge-shaped speaker, a wireless subwoofer, and a box for connecting traditional, passive systems. Each of the speakers in the Formation suite support high-quality 96kHz / 24-bit sound via wireless streaming, and Bowers & Wilkins touts that they feature a simplistic user interface to allow for easy setup.
B&W uses its new Formation app for multiroom streaming but it’s also compatible with Apple’s AirPlay 2 enables multi-room audio playback between the Formation products and other AirPlay 2 devices, such as the HomePod, Apple TV, and Sonos speakers.
Formation consists of five different products.
Formation tape – Nine optimized power units provide a wide sound, including a dedicated central channel, so you always feel as if you’re at the center of the sound effect. Price is $ 1,199.
Formation Duo – With the same carbon dome, high resolution tweeter and Continuum cone driver like Bowers & Wilkins, industry-defining wired speakers, they now face the legendary sound, wirelessly. Price is $3,999.
Forming wedge – It is unique in the form of a 120 degree elliptical speaker, with dedicated components with full-range stereo sound, with high-resolution stereo sound. Price is $899.
Formation bass – Opposed drivers, powerful amplifiers and dynamic EQ provide accurate audio depth and dimension without distortion. Couples with other formation components for premium audio immersion. Price is $ 999.
Format audio – Patented formation Wireless technology turns every traditional passive system into a high-altitude streaming system for the best of all the world’s sound experience. Price is $699.
