For the eighth edition of Only Watch, a biennial charity auction benefitting research on Duchenne muscular dystrophy, Jaeger-LeCoultre is presenting a unique timepiece: the Master Ultra Thin Perpetual Enamel Chestnut.
In keeping with tradition, the 2019 edition of the Only Watch event will kick off in Monaco from September 25 to 28. The event will come to a close in Geneva from November 7 to 9, where the charity auction will take place.
This new timepece piece highlights the talents of the Manufacture’s artisans who work together in the Rare Handcrafts™ (Métiers Rares®) workshop to retain the aesthetics of the collection. This Perpetual Enamel Chestnut white gold piece is instantly charming with its hand-guillochéd enamel dial in a striking chestnut colour.
Along with the hours, minutes, the date counter at 9 o’clock and the days of the week at 3 o’clock, this 39mm hand-guillochéd dial features a new display of the perpetual calendar at 12 o’clock. At 6 o’clock there is a subtle moon phase that simultaneously indicates the moon’s waxing and waning phases in both hemispheres. The full splendour of the sunburst guilloché radiates on the dial, providing the Master Ultra Thin Perpetual Enamel Chestnut with an impression of relief and depth. The guillochage work was carried out by hand on both the dial and the counters by Jaeger-LeCoultre’s artisans, who bring all of their expertise to bear with rare precision, working with age-old machines and tools in the purest watchmaking tradition.
It is driven by Calibre 868A/2 with automatic winding and has a power reserve of 70 hours as well as a water resistance level of 5 bar. The new timepiece is a truly unique piece that is dedicated for a noble cause. Discover Opulent Club on Apple News.
