Boeing unveiled a new luxury VIP business jet model for its massive new 777X widebody jet in Dubai at the Middle East Business Aviation Association trade show, it will be the first business jet that can fly from anywhere on Earth to anywhere else, nonstop.
Those long legs can be traveled in comfort, with a spacious cabin—nearly 8 feet tall and 20 feet wide—that provides plenty of room to work, socialize, and relax. To show what can be done inside the 777X airplane’s big passenger cabin, Boeing shared competing interior concept designs from three leading design firms: Greenpoint Technologies of Kirkland, Jet Aviation and a third set by Unique Aircraft Design. The jet will be available in two models. The BBJ 777-8 will be able to fly 11,645 nautical miles and offers a 3,256 square foot passenger cabin. The BBJ 777-9 provides a bigger 3,689 square feet cabin, while still offering range of 11,000 nautical miles.
The larger model opens up “almost unlimited interior design options to ensure ultimate comfort for long distance travel,” Boeing said.
Aviation interior designers said they drew inspiration from nature’s tranquility, voluminous clouds hanging over a white sand beach, smooth rolling hills and a starry night sky. Their concepts show the vast range of cabin modifications that can be offered to customers and tweaked to suit their needs.
“Our most exclusive customers want to travel with the best space and comfort and fly directly to their destination. The new BBJ 777X will be able to do this like no other airplane before it, redefining ultra-long range VIP travel,” said Greg Laxton, head of Boeing Business Jets. The first Boeing 777-9 is expected to be delivered in 2020, with the 777-8 following soon after. Discover Opulent Club on Apple News.
