Josh Rodriguez introduced his latest design, a 84.4m superyacht Catalina. The steel hull and aluminium superstructure feature both interior and exteriors by Ignacio Rodriguez, who describes the interior styling as “modern and chic” with pastel blue accents and hammered bronze details throughout.
The styling of the yacht marks the style language direction of the studio coming into 2023: simple yet elegant lines. Not overtly covered in accents or details, subtle and understated yet rich and complex,” says Josh Rodriguez.
Catalina’s 2300GT comprises accommodation for 14 guests across six cabins. The owner’s suite and two VIP cabins are found forward on the main deck while three double cabins sleep eight guests on the lower. The crew area involves the placement for 22 crew members between nine cabins. A central staircase is designed to connect communal areas vertically and makes it easy for guests to socialise across multiple lounging and entertaining spaces.
The yacht spreads across five decks. The yacht will offer a 102 metre square beach club with an extra 40 sq. m added with the touch of a button, via folding side balconies. A 6.7 metre by 3.65 metre pool will boast a counter flow system and stairs on both sides of the deck lead directly onto a sunbathing area on a mezzanine, where a Jacuzzi and generous sunpads create a more relaxed environment.
On the main deck, aft there is a shaded chill-out area with two L shaped sofas and a coffee table. An upper saloon has three different living spaces all with expansive glazing. The first has aspects of architectural glass protruding through the deck to create a “fishbowl effect,” and allows copious amounts of sunlight to bathe the space. The front chill-out area / helicopter waiting area is located forward and consists of a circular seating arrangement for up to 14 people.
Catalina’s is designed with a helipad suited for an Airbus ACH 145. Alongside the landing space on the upper deck, guests will find a waiting area with a circular seating arrangement for up to 14 people. Catalina also features a fully equipped sauna/spa, gym, massage room and hairdressing station. The tender storage, accessible via two gullwing doors that can host two VIP tenders of up to 8 meters, two crew tenders of up to 6 meters and four jet skis.
Catalina is designed with a cruising speed of 12 knots and a top speed of 16 knots. Her diesel-electric hybrid propulsion is designed to with a range of 6500 nautical miles. Discover Opulent Club on Apple news.
