The Macallan unveils the latest edition in its renowned Distil Your World series, drawing inspiration from the dynamic energy of Hong Kong for its fourth release. Bottled with bold flavors, rich cultural depth, and a complexity that beckons another sip, it captures the essence of Hong Kong in every drop.

Each release in the Distil Your World series is inspired by a distinct city, with past editions celebrating New York, London, and Mexico. Notably, a single cask edition of Distil Your World Mexico—one of only two bottles—recently fetched over $80,000 at auction, with proceeds supporting charity.
Distil Your World Hong Kong marks the fourth chapter in The Macallan’s ongoing collaboration with the Roca brothers, the visionary chefs behind the Michelin-starred El Celler de Can Roca in Girona, Spain. With each edition, the trio embarks on a sensorial journey through a major global metropolis, seeking to distill its essence—its landmarks, flavors, and cultural identity—into a singular whisky expression. What might be simple sightseeing for most transforms, in their hands, into the art of whisky craftsmanship.

The whisky pours like a Victoria Harbour sunset, offering a nose of ginger, spices, honey, and ripe mango, with a hint of antique oak and a nod to Hong Kong’s egg tart. The palate is rich and velvety, unfolding into tropical brightness, warming spices, and aged oak, with a subtle umami depth. The finish? Long, vibrant, and effortlessly elegant.

The Roca brothers have crafted a menu that mirrors Hong Kong’s rich cultural tapestry and vibrant landscape.
“Distil Your World brought us to Hong Kong, and we have distilled the city with extraordinary results,” said Joan Roca. “The creative process is where we have fun. That’s where the chaos is, where we are open to anything, where anything is possible and, no matter how crazy it may seem, it may be useful. Our culinary proposal is inspired by the deep-rooted traditions and different cultures of Hong Kong, while at the same time represents the modernity of the city.”
The cosmopolitan menu includes Yum Cha aperitifs, Rose Ha Gau, truffle cha siu bao, and scallop Cheung fun, with mains like Temple Night Market-inspired sweet and sour vegetables and prawn roe mousse with abalone, finishing with a duck and milk tea mooncake.

Launching in April 2025 across Asia Travel Retail and the Asia-Pacific region, Distil Your World Hong Kong debuts at $4,750. With fewer than 500 bottles reaching the U.S., first via private pre-sales and then premium retailers in September, this limited release is a must-have for whisky connoisseurs.
