Exclusive Mercedes-AMG GT 63 ‘APXGP Edition’

As the 2025 Miami Grand Prix weekend kicks off, Mercedes-AMG has unveiled the GT 63 “APXGP Edition”—a limited-edition coupe created to commemorate the upcoming Apple Originals film, F1. This rare and special model will be limited to just 52 units worldwide.

Mercedes played a pivotal role in bringing the film to life. Beyond providing the official safety and medical cars seen on screen, the brand also supplied several of its icons—including the AMG SL, GT, and G-Class—for scenes away from the circuit. Mercedes was reportedly instrumental in developing the APXGP race cars featured in the movie, which are actually modified Formula 2 machines. The automaker designed bespoke bodywork to give them the look of true F1 contenders, while also accommodating the extensive camera rigs required for filming.

Clad in a bespoke APXGP Edition livery, every detail of the car is meticulously hand-finished to reflect the film’s fictional race team. Striking race gold accents highlight the grille, fenders, side skirts, and rear diffuser, while 21-inch forged wheels finished in matte race gold add a bold, motorsport-inspired edge. Even the AMG ceramic brakes play their part, housed in gloss black calipers that amplify the visual drama. The carbon-fiber aero kit—comprising front splitters, side sills, a rear diffuser, and a fixed rear wing—is borrowed from AMG’s top-tier performance packages.

This exclusive take on the Mercedes-AMG GT is built on the GT 63 4MATIC+ platform, head-turning design lies a powerhouse: a 4.0-liter biturbo V8 delivering 585 horsepower, paired with AMG’s fully variable Performance 4MATIC+ all-wheel drive system. With active aerodynamics, semi-active suspension, and rear-axle steering in the mix, it’s a masterful blend of motorsport engineering and everyday drivability.

Inside, the race gold theme continues with striking details: carbon fiber trim, black Nappa leather, and microfiber suede across the seats and steering wheel—all accented by gold contrast stitching on the door panels, instrument cluster, and center armrest. The attention to detail extends further with gold-backlit AMG lettering on the door sills and floor mats featuring leather inserts embroidered with the APXGP logo in race gold. Tech-wise, it’s equally impressive, boasting a 15-speaker, 1,170-watt Burmester sound system and a data logger included with the AMG Track Pack. Only 52 units of this special edition will be produced globally, each bearing a unique numbered badge underscoring its rarity.

And to keep this prized machine protected? Each owner receives a bespoke, edition-specific AMG Indoor Car Cover—because a car this striking deserves first-class treatment, even at rest.

Mercedes-AMG has yet to reveal pricing for the APXGP Edition, but with the standard GT63 coupe starting just under $180,000, this collector-focused limited edition will almost certainly command a premium. As for fans, the high-octane action hits the big screen when F1 debuts internationally on June 25, followed by its North American release on June 27.
