Audemars Piguet released the Black Ceramic Royal Oak Tourbillon Extra-Thin this week at SIHH 2019. The black ceramic satin-finished and polished case measuring 41 mm is seven times harder than steel. Featuring a large tourbillon cut into the six o’clock position of the “Tapisserie Evolutive” dial pattern. A Calibre 2924 tourbillon movement (31.5 mm x 4.46 mm) which ticks at 3 Hz and offers some 70 hours of power reserve.
The dial features hours, minutes, a 60-second tourbillon, and on the movement side there is a power reserve indicator embedded directly in the three-quarter plate, which by the way has a unique hand-finished sunray Geneva stripes pattern, and that has been darkened, no less. Featuring a display case back, the rear shows a power reserve indicator and also the inner mechanism of the timepiece.
