US-based Norwegian designer Kurt Stand has revealed his latest Strand Craft superyacht concept, the 135 metre California.
The contemporary design of the vessel with a 10-metre beam and impressive interior volume of 8,000 GT will be trademarked with large glass walls, glass balconies, foldable glass doors and retractable sections at the living areas. Accommodation is for 24 guests and 50 crew with the interior decorated with materials including reclaimed wood, natural stone, inside wall waterfalls and large aquariums. There are 3 pools with waterfalls and a wave machine for surfing.
The mammoth concept sports a number of stand-out, extreme features including a 24-seat cinema, bowling alley and a showroom for a classic car collection. Interior design would also include a lounge area with a bar, a game room, Turkish bath, wellness center and a night club.
The California will host three pools with waterfalls on the lower decks aft, with one of these even equipped with a surf riding machine reflecting California lifestyle. The yacht design features a steel hull and aluminium superstructure with an exterior design sporting large expanses of glass via walls, balconies and doors.
The “fresh contemporary architectural look”, as Strand called it, includes a spa pool on the foredeck, forward of the helipad. The hangar for storing the helicopter would sit beneath the helipad, operated by an automatic elevator system.
Designed with a hybrid electric propulsion system, California receives power from high efficient diesel generators, that allows the yacht to run at a reduced cruising speed of 11 knots for five hours on power provided by a 60-tonne lithium-ion battery bank. All tenders and toys on board would also be electrically powered. California will be also trademarked with water cleaning system and an automatic angled solar panel system, assisting the power supply when in harbour.
While no renderings of California’s interior have yet been released, Strand said it is “very different from all other yachts in this size range.” Discover Opulent Club on Apple News.
