High-end audio company Bang & Olufsen has launched the Beosound Edge. The speaker’s design is essentially an upscaled (and to scale) version of the old British Pound coin. Clad in a solid aluminum ring, the Beosound Edge is born of a collaboration between the Danish luxury brand and globally acclaimed designer Michael Anastassiades.
Additionally, what makes it more impressive is that users can slowly rock the speaker back and forth like rolling a coin, to increase and decrease volume. The Beosound Edge has a slim 10-inch woofer for powerful bass, two 4-inch mid-range drivers, two 1/4-inch tweeters, and an active base port for improved clarity at all volumes.
With an aluminum frame covering the matte black speaker system on the center for a flawless finish, the sleek design also boasts a subtle physical touch interface into the aluminium frame, creating a futuristic-like aesthetic. It comes with a “gravity-defying” wall mount as well. It supports Bluetooth, AirPlay 2, and Chromecast, and will be available starting in mid-November at the cool price of just $3,500.
