High-end sound company Bang & Olufsen released the Contrast Collection a limited eight-piece range created in collaboration with Danish design studio Norm Architects.
In the “Contrast Collection,” the the two brands have studied the combination of contrasting materials and tactile surfaces. As it states in its press release, Bang & Olufsen explores the “minimal and expressive, rough and smooth, light and dark, silence and loudness, harmony and noise.” Bang & Olufsen and Norm Architects’ desire to turn the mirror-like aluminum into a soft and warm spectrum of colors resulted in the light grey and anthracite color tones.
For the Contrast Collection, Bang & Olufsen and Norm Architects created a new type of textile that offers more tactility to the products and allows them to integrate beautifully in the home. This collection now utilizes a wool and viscose fabric blend that originates from Kvadrat’s Hallingdal Fabric — the same company that provides all of Bang & Olufsen’s standard speaker coverings.
The collection is comprised of the Beoplay A1, Beoplay A9, Beoplay H9, Beosound Stage, the Beosound Edge, the modular Beosound Shape, and two premium portable speakers, the Beosound 1 and 2. Prices range from $250 USD to $3,800 USD.
The Contrast Collection is available online, in select third-party retailers and in Bang & Olufsen stores. Discover Opulent Club on Apple News.
